Matthew Gilpin is a business and public leader with a keen in interest in emerging technology.
Track record in law, investment, governance and as a founder across sectors:
Investment & Corporate Management:
Partner and COO for a corporate infrastructure credit and private equity group based in London, Luxembourg and Jersey. Overseeing operational, risk, financial and legal aspects of the business, including ESG. Previous experience as a lawyer and investment banker (CEE ECM).
Technology:
Founder of companies pursuing quantum-inspired computing and (now exited) security & defence A.I.
Special interest in frontier & dual-use technologies. Post-graduate and professional studies in Psychology, Neuroscience, Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence.
Public Service:
In public life, Matthew serves as a Trustee of the Royal Air Force Museum, one of the UK's National Museums, where he chairs the People & Governance Committee and sits on the Ethics Group and Finance, Audit & Risk Committee as well as the Challenge Panel for the recent Ministry of Defence review of service museums. Supporter of UK military & veteran charities.
Other activities:
Matthew serves on the Alumni Committee for Oriel College, Oxford University. He also advises a diversity-led UK Film and TV production company and is the founder of Westmorland Spirits, a boutique spirits producer.
